Solar panels for heating
Solar water heating panels provide up to 1/3rd of your annual hot water requirement and reduces usage of expensive diminishing fossil fuels; coal, gas and oil. Solar panels provide an everlasting FREE energy source. Reduces carbon emissions by as much as 2000 cubic metres per year.

Every year in the UK over 1000 KWh of energy per m2 of surface area is available to use, free of charge, for conversion into heat, providing hot water for domestic use. An average home requires 3000 KWh annually for hot water and therefore a Affordable Solar Energy water heating system can provide up to 70% of your annual hot water requirement. Saving energy in hot water heating and indoor heating applications has become increasingly popular and important in the light of ever increasing gas and oil prices and also the Kyoto protocol requirements to reduce emissions.
Recent innovative design improvements in Affordable Solar Energy products have made it possible to link your underfloor heating system with the solar heating system. As a result further savings can be made and up to 25% of your underfloor heating requirements can be generated using solar thermal energy.

The system works by creating a solar circuit from the collectors on the roof to a new tailor-made solar cylinder, using special stainless steel flexi tube piping. This circuit contains a heat exchange fluid, Tyfocor, and is pressurised both for safety and for high temperatures to be used.
An Affordable solar station incorporating a pump is fitted to monitor and control flows and temperatures.
Controlling the system
The system is controlled by a control box, which monitors the temperatures at the hottest point and at the coldest point and when there is a temperature difference, allows the pump to operate, transferring the heat to the cylinder and heating the water in it.
This process continues until the temperatures are equal or the water in the cylinder has reached its preset temperature.
Each solar water heating system is individually designed to ensure the best performance for each property and we can therefore design systems for use with all types of boilers and cylinders including combination boilers, aga/rayburn, pressurised cylinders, pumped circuits as well as conventional boilers.
